Wildstock Give Back Report_Fall 2017 Element: Forests Why: It is no secret that forests are an absolutely crucial component in our ecosystems worldwide. They are our world’s natural filtration systems, absorbing tremendous amounts of CO2 and other harmful gases while supplying all living beings with oxygen. They provide habitat for countless creatures, large and small. They are a renewable source of raw materials, provide protection and food, and inspire communities across the globe to get outside, explore, and connect with the natural world we are dependent upon. They are also constantly under threat from natural causes such as a warming planet and beetle infestations, as well as many man made causes such as deforestation, clear-cut logging, unsustainable development, and many more. Below are 3 Initiatives that our team found to be doing some very inspiring and impactful work. As is true with every season, our contestants for Fall 2017 were all vetted to the best of our ability, and our goal is to support highly impactful, sustainable, and tangible change with every dollar we give back. Winners: #1 - National Forest Foundation - www.nationalforests.org - The National Forest Foundation (NFF) works with the U.S. Forest Service and communities across the country to care for the 193-million-acre National Forest System and the millions of visitors it receives each year. The NFF brings people together to restore and enhance our National Forests and Grasslands. #2 - Cloud Forest Conservation Initiative - http://www.forestprimeval.org/ - “WE ARE WORKING TO SAVE THE LARGEST EXPANSE OF UNPROTECTED TROPICAL CLOUD FOREST IN NORTHERN CENTRAL AMERICA. LOCATED IN CENTRAL GUATEMALA, CERRO AMAY IS A PARADISE OF VIRGIN FOREST, waterfalls, caves, and wildlife.” #3 - Kids Saving the Rainforest - http://www.kidssavingtherainforest.org/ - Kids Saving the Rainforest began in 1999 in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica when Janine Licare and Aislin Livingstone were 9 years old. Janine and Aislin saw the rainforest disappearing from their beloved home and the negative impact of this on the animals, particularly the mono titi monkeys. They were kids inspired to save the precious rainforest and voila, our name became Kids Saving the Rainforest!

We believe in transparency. It's important that it always remains clear and visible what we stand for, who we support, and where our proceeds are being directed. This is a place to post that information - and we plan on adding additional information about the impact we are having as we continue to grow as a company.

Why: Summer is the season for maximum ocean awareness and connectivity. We wanted to capitalize on this exposure and target some really exciting causes + initiatives to help bring awareness and support to the work they are doing. Much has been revealed in recent months and years about our connection to the ocean, and the dire situation we - as a planet - find ourselves in pertaining to issues like toxicity, plastic pollution, acidity, habitat depletion, reef denigration, over fishing, and more. Winners: The Wildstock community voted to support the following three causes with the proceeds from our Give Back Fund: #1 - The Ocean Cleanup - theoceanclenup.com - The Ocean Cleanup develops advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. A full-scale deployment of our systems is estimated to clean up 50% of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in 5 years. #2 - Sharkwater Extinction - sharkwater.com - Crowdfunded Documentary Film to SAVE SHARKS by exposing the billion dollar industries that are lying to you! #3 - The Ocean Conservancy - conserveturtles.org - High impact ocean and turtle conservation organization that accomplishes its work through advocacy & policy initiatives, habitat preservation, and education & outreach. Congratulations to the Initiatives that were selected and to the amazing work they are doing. Looking forward to Fall 2017. The target element will be Forests, and our research and legwork into the issues revolving around them have begun. Onward and upward!
